Barbecue and Bowls, 2011 (Report)
On Sunday 7 August, 2011, more than thirty members and friends enjoyed another afternoon at Dersingham's Albert Victor Bowls Club, playing three sets of 'ends' and devouring a feast of barbecued chicken, sausages and burgers, along with a wide variety of salads and, as usual, some scrumptious desserts -- cooked, prepared and served by members of the committee. Though the weather was windy at least it stayed fine and warm, so no complaints there. We gathered around 2 p.m. and it was almost 7 p.m. before the party ended. A wonderful afternoon. Thanks to everyone who helped out in any way.
Also, huge thanks again to club manager Mervyn and his helper, young Sam, for their cheerful presence and help. Some of our members have become regular bowlers and others are thinking of joining the club. Great fun as well as great exercise.
